"a" did it Again!!!

Well, "a" has surprised us once again! Two months ago I posted that we thought "A" was teething, remember? Well, here we are at almost 5 months and "A" still has not cut any teeth, guess we were wrong! LOL!

Lately we've been having a lot of trouble getting "a" to sleep at night. He just cries and cries. We've been having to get him back up and play with him for a little while longer and then putting him back to bed. I'm sure by now we've set up a bad habit that we'll have to break, but we'll deal with that. So, last night was not unlike every other night for the last week. After screaming this horrible high pitched scream for 10 minutes I had Chad go get him. We were already in bed so I just cuddled up with "a" to see if he'd go to sleep. Chad asked if it was possible that he was teething. I didn't think so b/c "A" hadn't cut any teeth yet so I doubted that "a" had. So I gave his little gums a quick rub to check. Lo and behold, what did I feel??? The corner of a little tooth that had broken through the gums! How can that be? We assumed that "A" would be the first to cut a tooth!! Maybe this is why he's been so difficult to put to bed lately!! Poor baby! There's noting to take a picture of yet, but as soon as there is, I will be sure to post it!

Trying Something New...

Well, the twins hit another milestone!! This time...their first taste of Rice Cereal!!

This video* is of "Little a". He was a champ! He opened wide and ate the cereal right down. He stayed pretty clean too!

This is the video* of "Big A". He was not as impressed with the cereal as his younger brother! He wouldn't really open his mouth and of course pushed most of the cereal back out with his tongue. He made a much bigger mess!

If the cereal had been colored I would have taken a picture of their bibs after they were done! "Little a's" barely had anything on it and "Big A's" was a filthy mess!! LOL! Here are some more pictures.
Getting ready!

"Little a" being a good boy!

This is my favorite picture from the whole experience! This really says it all! LOL!

We honestly expected "A" to be totally into eating from a spoon and thought that "a" would totally freak out! They definitely surprised us!

*I just watched the videos again before publishing this post and was reminded that the occasion was attended by the whole family! You can hear quite the audience in the videos! LOL!

Love Letter...

I was checking out the newest fashions at C28 the other day and they have a new shirt that has this written on the back. I thought it was beautiful and would like to post it on my bathroom mirror so I can read it everyday! Maybe it will speak to some of you as it did to me.

My Child,

Not only can I hear you, but I know everything about you. (Psalm139:1) I know when you sit down and when you rise up. (Psalm 139:2) I am familiar with all your ways. (Psalm 139:3) Even the very hairs on your head are numbered. (Matthew 10:29-31) For you were made in My image. (Genesis 1:27) In Me, you live and move and have your being. (Acts 17:27-28)

For you are My offspring. (Acts 17:28) I knew you even before you were conceived. (Jeremiah 1:4-5) I chose you, when I planned creation. (Ephesians 1:11-12) You were not a mistake, for all your days are written in My book. (Psalm 139:15-16) I determined the exact time of your birth, and where you would live. (Acts 17:26) You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) I knit you together in your mother's womb. (Psalm 139:13) And brought you forth on the day you were born. (Psalm 71:6) I have been misrepresented by those who don't know Me. (John 8:41, 42, 44) I am not distant and angry, but am the complete expression of love. (1 John 4:16) And it is My desire to lavish My love on you. Simply because you are My child, and I am your Father. (1 John 3:1) I offer you more than your earthly father ever could. (Matthew 7:11) For I am the perfect Father. (Matthew 5:48)

Every good gift that you receive, comes from My hand. (James 1:17) For I am your provider, and I Meet all your needs. (Matthew 6:31-33) My plan for your future has always been filled with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Because I love you with an everlasting love. (Jeremiah 31:3) My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore. (Psalm 139:17-18) And I rejoice over you with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17) I will never stop doing good to you. (Jeremiah 32:40) For you are My treasured possession. (Exodus 19:5) I desire to establish you with all My heart, and all My soul. (Jeremiah 32:41) And I want to show you great and marvelous things. (Jeremiah 33:3) If you seek Me with all your heart, you will find Me. (Deuteronomy 4:29) Delight in Me, and I will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4) For it is I, who gave you those desires. (Philippians 2:13) I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine. (Ephesians 3:20-21) For I am your greatest encourager. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) And nothing will ever separate you from My love again. (Romans 8:38-39) I have always been your Father, and will always be your Father. (Ephesians 3:14-15)

Love,
Your Heavenly Father

Be blessed!

4 Months Old!!

I can't believe it! My precious babies are 4 months old! Where does the time go??

We had their 4 month check up today. They are healthy, strong and growing like little weeds!

Al is 14 pounds, 8 ounces and 26 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 50% for his weight and the 75%-90% for his length! He does NOT get that from my side of the family!! He is such a happy baby! He's always looking for someone to smile at and laughs at the silliest things! He's rolling over both ways now and found his thumb this week. While we're not too thrilled about having another thumb sucker, we are loving the fact that he can pacify himself at night now and has slept through the night for the last 4 nights!

An is 12 pounds, 14 ounces and 25 1/4 inches long. That puts him in the 10%-25% for his weight and the 50%-75% for his length. He is gaining weight really well now and I'm so relieved! He is also a very happy baby, but he is more high maintenance and more serious than his twin. We laugh at him b/c when he laughs he doesn't smile! It's so funny! He loves to stand up and he's a big talker. He also learned how to roll from his back to his belly, but I haven't been able to catch it on video yet. He has found his thumb and pacifies himself at night as well. He's been sleeping through the night for over a week now and we're loving it!

We finally moved them to their own room at the end of September and we moved Al to his own crib over the weekend. We were having a hard time situating them so that they fit without whacking each other in the head!

I love the little shirts they have on in this picture! It describes them perfectly! Al is quite enamored with his Daddy! That's okay, An is totally a Mama's Boy!

Call me crazy...

But I think that AM is teething!!! I wouldn't have believed it if Angel hadn't told me that her oldest cut her first tooth at 3 months. He's really having trouble sleeping lately and has had rosy cheeks for a couple weeks now. I keep trying to get a look at his gums and I think they're swollen. I thought W cut teeth early and he was 5 months!

Stay tuned for updates!!
