How was your Thanksgiving?

Ours was great!

First we went to my friend Dawn's house. I met Dawn at CBS in March and instantly felt a bond with her! She and her husband and 2 boys moved here from England about the same time that we moved up here. We also go to the same church and Dawn is Will's Sunday School teacher. She is such a funny person and we just laugh and laugh when we're together!

Dawn and Jim (her husband) invited us to spend Thanksgiving with their family. We went to their house about 2:30PM yesterday and we had a wonderful time! Their boys (Ryan and Ross) are 15 and 11 years old and they kept our boys entertained from 2:30 to 7:00. They were so great with the boys! We adults were able to sit and visit and it was great! Dawn cooked the turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, rolls, pumpkin pie, brownies, ice cream pie and jello salad. We brought some Texas Trash, sweet potato casserole, creamed corn and pecan pie. We had quite the feast and everything was delicious!

After we left Dawn and Jim's we went to Dave and Linda's. We took a pecan pie over there and joined them for dessert. Dave and Linda had a full house! Dave's mom, sister and brother were up for the holiday and then they also had Dave's boss and his wife and daughter over. It was really great getting to meet all of them! Super nice people! We had a great time! Linda made pumpkin pie and a pumpkin roll (pumpkin cake with a cream cheese filling), Dave's boss and his family brought a pecan pie and a pumpkin cheesecake. The desserts were fabulous and I of course sampled them all!! There were 7 kids ages 5 and under! Whew! They actually all did really well together! We left their house about 9:30 and all three of our boys fell asleep on the way home from their house!

It was a wonderful day! I was so worried that I would be miserable without my family. But it was an awesome day!

What am I thankful for? Well, of course my family - immediate and extended. But I am thankful that God blessed us with such great friends in only 10 months that we had two places to go for Thanksgiving and didn't have to spend it alone. God is SO good!!

A little late, but ours was ok. As good as it could be travelling 4 hours with a husband that was on the verge of vomitting the whole way. :)
